Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative gaining momentum through work of groups like Lake Hudson Pheasant Cooperative The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today applauded the Lake Hudson Pheasant Cooperative (LHPC) for its efforts in building a coalition of landowners and others committed to restoring pheasant habitat and revitalizing pheasant hunting in Michigan. For those of you would like to see the new Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative flyer, this is just for you: MPRI Flyer. This flyer has information on what the Initiative is about, how to join or form a Pheasant Cooperative in your area, and who to contact to find out more. The Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative (MPRI) is a conservation initiative started in Washington, D.C. – April 26 – Pheasants Forever (PF) Vice President of Governmental Affairs Dave Nomsen will testify before a House Agriculture Subcommittee today, representing the views of Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever and the organizations’ 135,000 combined members, on the Conservation Reserve Program and will offer recommendations on 2012 Farm Bill conservation provisions. Pheasants Forever wants the federal Farm Bill to continue protecting sustainable agricultural production, while giving landowners and producers the appropriate tools to make responsible conservation decisions. Those tools include continuing the successful CRP along with a suite of other conservation programs and augmenting them with sound land management policies.
